Guests from our hotel are invited to explore “Byington Vineyard, in the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking the Silicon Valley.

Byington Vineyard is situated on 95 acres including 9 acres exclusively devoted to pinot noir grapes. Currently most grapes come from the Pina Robles area but plans are in the pipeline to add Bordeaux and Rhone varieties. Known for Italianate Stone Chateau, our wine production list includes Chardonnay, Alliage and Cabernet Sauvignon. We invite you to take a tour available Tuesday-Sunday or just relax and enjoy the beautiful Monteray Bay while sipping our fine wines seated around an umbrella table.

Another site guaranteed to tickle you fancy is San Jose Flea Market, America’s largest open-air market. Composed of 8 miles of aisles, the market was created by a landfill employee who believed in that old adage “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Among all the toys, tools, works of art and jewelry you are sure to find the perfect reminder of your Silicon Valley visit. Be sure to visit the huge fresh produce area. Vendor carts offering sodas, beer, and Mexican snacks are sure to be just a footstep away.

Two must-sees are Googleplex and the Computer Science Museum. Aside from being the home of America’s most popular search engine, be sure to check out the Space Ship One facsimile and the Android Logo statue. The Computer Science Museum houses the world’s largest display of computer-related items including the Whirlwind and Cray supercomputers.

Be sure Winchester Mystery House is on your list of things to see and do in Silicon Valley. This mind-boggling home got its title following a 1924 visit by Harry Houdini. Built by the widow of Winchester Rifle magnate, William Wirt Winchester, construction began in 1884 and continued 24/7 until 1922.
